Ikaria
Ikaria is our favourite island in all of the Mediterranean. The people are very friendly and relaxed and the scenery is stunning. Beautiful mountains and amazing beaches. This island is the birthplace of Dionysus, God of wine and ritual abandon.
This is the top blue zone on the planet, where people live the longest and healthiest. They call it “the island where people forget to die.” The healthy stress free lifestyle as well as the attitude of the locals has a very positive effect on their health and longevity.
The locals are hard working people but they have their own unique pace. They are not commercially minded, the island has no billboards or ugly signs. Hotels and restaurants have creative hand painted signs advertising their small businesses. This is the perfect place to get away from our fast paced consumer driven world.
Our co-living co-working project is set up in a complex of maisonettes (mini villas) located on a hill above the the village of Nas and hence benefits from a great sea and sunsets views. Walking distance downhill to the beach and variety of restaurants. The beach has got remains of the Temple of Artemis and the whole area benefits from an amazing energy because of that.
The mid season is ideal for those that want to enjoy the island in the summer, when the weather is still not too hot and the island is not overrun by seasonal tourists, but is has got some movement and some relaxing social life.
The low season is great for those writing a book, looking to spend some time alone or with their partner and relax, as the island is empty. It can be too empty for those looking for social life during their stay.
